29/1 Both Teams to Score & Win Treble
First up was Midtjylland, fresh from their 3-2 defeat in Poland mid-week they were keen to hit the ground running in the league and by 20 minutes both teams had found the scoresheet, Onuachu for the hosts and Pourie for the visitors. The home side were in complete control of this game from this point, looking dangerous with every attack and in the 53rd minute, Borring fired the hosts in front. Midtjylland managed to the see the game out, win 2-1 and land the first leg of our Both Teams to Score & Win Treble.
Next we had Basel, who had the seemingly easy task of dispatching Lucerne at home with the courtesy of letting the opposition bag a goal for their troubles. The home side raced into a 2-0 lead when Elyounoussi and Bua found the back of the net. We have Elyounoussi to thank for a large part of this leg as in the 53rd minute he scored in his own net to pull one back for the visitors. The shock comeback never really looked on and in the 79th minute victory was sealed from ex Norwich forward Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. 3-1 final score and onto the final leg of our Both Teams to Score & Win Treble.
Finally, we were in Denmark where Brondby hosted Lyngby and we were made to sweat profusely for our treble. We got off to the perfect start as in the 2nd minute Blume fired the visitors in front. The lead didnt last long as although Teemu Pukki missed a 5th minute penalty, Kliment was on hand to convert the rebound. Joy turned into frustration as the visitors took a 43rd minute lead and put is in a spot of both. Thankfully, Lyngby’s Rygard Jensen couldn’t keep his cool and got sent off in the 48th minute for a second yellow. The man advantage had an immediate effect as 7 minutes later Brondby were back on level terms through Vigen and just 13 minutes later he scored again sending Brondby 3-2 up. Despite being in complete control of the game Lyngby managed to get themselves a penalty in the 74th minute, of which Nielsen cooly converted. That wasn’t to stand in our way however as two goals in the final 10 minutes from Halimi and Vigen, who netted his 3rd of the game, sealed the win and our 29/1 Both Teams to Score & Win Treble.
