Arsenal 3-1 Burnley: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goals make him top scoring Premier League player and hands Gunners three points

Arsenal ensured it will be a Merry Christmas for Gooners, having suffered back-to-back defeats.

Mesut Ozil was back in the starting line-up and a superb pass opened up the Burnley defence, leading to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s opener.

Aubameyang doubled the lead in the second half, but were pegged back by an Ashley Barnes goal only for a stoppage time effort from Alex Iwobi to seal all three points for Unai Emery’s men.

Arsenal are now level on points with fourth placed Chelsea, but are behind on goal difference. A win for the Clarets, who were better than the scoreline suggests, would have taken them out of the bottom three, but it was not to be.

Sead Kolasinac put in a fantastic performance and a return to form will be welcome for manager Unai Emery.

However, without Aubameyang in red hot form, Arsenal would not be where they are. The man just cannot stop scoring and is now leading the Premier League goal charts.
