Unai Emery reportedly maintains the full backing of the Arsenal board despite the club recording their worst start to a season since 1982/83.

Jamie Vardy once again proved to be the scourge of the Gunners as he scored his ninth goal in as many appearances in this fixture before setting up James Maddison to seal a 2-0 victory at the King Power Stadium.

And according to The Athletic, the Gunners hierarchy are ‘100 per cent’ behind Emery and no plans to replace him.

The report states that Emirates chiefs will not make a decision on his future until the summer.

Stan Kroenke and his son Josh, head of football Raul Sanllehi, managing director Vinai Venkatesham, technical director Edu and all other influential figures are firmly on the same page.

This will be music to the ears of their current manager who hopes time will solve their issues.

“For me, as a coach, it’s about continuing stronger and improving with our players,” Emery said.

“I am speaking with the club to stay calm and to stay patient to improve and recover some confidence with some circumstances.

“We are receiving criticism but I know that’s my job. I’ve had lots of moments like that but I’ve recovered by working to get confidence, being together with the club and players.
