Arsenal news: Former midfielder Edu set to return in the summer as technical director
Former Arsenal midfielder Edu is in line to become Arsenal’s technical director according to reports.
The ex-Gunners star is is currently coordinator of the Brazilian FA national teams and the club view Edu as the perfect candidate to become their technical director after they were snubbed by Monchi, who returned to Sevilla last month, say the Daily Mail.
Arsenal are prepared to wait for the 40-year-old who would not move to the Emirates until after Brazil’s Copa America campaign finishes in the summer, where they are the host nation.
His arrival is expected to coincide with the arrival of fellow Brazilian, forward Gabriel Martinelli, who Arsenal are keen to bring in as their first summer signing.

Edu spent four years with Arsenal, before departing to Valencia in 2005. He was part of the ‘Invincibles’ squad of 2003-04 and won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups.
