Arsenal vs Fulham: Premier League match preview, team news, predicted line-ups, plus more
Fulham will be looking to make the most of Arsenal’s defensive fragilities on New Year’s Day as they aim for back-to-back wins in the Premier League.
The Gunners were exposed by Liverpool and the Cottagers will want to make the most of facing a side who may still be feeling rattled by the 5-1 defeat.
Claudio Ranieri’s men will no doubt be wary though given their own leaky backline and a struggle to score more than the odd goal in a game.
So can Arsenal get back on track at the Emirates or will Fulham get a late Christmas present in the form of three points?
What the managers are saying
Unai Emery (Arsenal): “We need to keep the balance in the middle, be serious and continue on Tuesday with a big match at the Emirates. We need to show our supporters there we are standing up after the result [against Liverpool].”
Claudio Ranieri (Fulham):
Arsenal could be boosted by the return of full-backs Hector Bellerin (calf) and Nacho Monreal (hamstring), which should ease their defence woes but Rob Holding (knee), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck (both ankle) miss out. Mesut Ozil is a doubt for the match.
Alfie Mawson is set to miss out for Fulham after a knee injury against Huddersfield. Elsewhere, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa could return from an ankle injury, while Ranieri could consider dropping Aboubakar Kamara for a disciplinary matter.
