Billy Joe Saunders wins on return to ring, promoter Frank Warren reveals next fight set to take place in March
Billy Joe Saunders stopped Carlos Adamu after four rounds in his comeback fight on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old is now set to return in March as he looks to regain a world title, like the one he vacated earlier this year.
At short notice, Saunders weighed in at 178.5lbs for the bout and forced his opponent to quit on his stool in between the fourth and fifth sessions.
Back in the dressing room after the bout, promoter Frank Warren was captured by IFLTV telling his man to prepare for a spring return in March.
2018 has been a tough year for Billy Joe Saunders, with various social media controversies, two cancelled title defences against Martin Murray, fruitless negotiations for a bout with Gennady Golovkin and a failed drugs test which ultimately cost him his WBO middleweight world title.

The 29-year-old was scheduled to meet Demetrius Andrade in a mandatory defence of his belt in October, before testing positive for the banned substance Oxilofrine in a VADA test.
Despite strenuous debate regarding whether the drug was permitted ‘out of competition’ under the rules of various governing bodies, the Massachusetts Commission refused Billy Joe Saunders a licence for his bout in Boston and he was given a six month ban by the WBO after vacating their belt.
