Celtic news: Roberto Martinez’s agent plays down rumour he will become the new manager
Roberto Martinez’s agent has poured cold water on rumours linking the Spaniard to the Celtic job.
Neil Lennon was placed in temporary charge at Celtic Park until the end of the season following Brendan Rodgers’ departure to Leicester in February.
Belgium boss Martinez, who has a contract until 2020, and former Chelsea manager Andre Vilas-Boas are among the bookmakers’ favourites to permanently replace Rodgers.
But Jesse De Preter insists Martinez will stay with Belgium, who are no.1 in the FIFA world rankings.
He said: “Roberto always seems to be on the shortlist as soon as there is a vacancy at a big club.
