Devin Haney result: 20-year-old Ameican beats Alfredo Santiago by decision to defend WBC lightweight title on KSI vs Logan Paul 2 undercard
Devin Haney successfully made the first defence of his WBC lightweight title as he defeated Alfredo Santiago by unanimous decision on Saturday night in LA.
The 20-year-old was recently upgraded to become boxing’s youngest world champion and tasked with his first title bout on the KSI vs Logan Paul undercard.

It didn’t go completely to plan for Haney as the fight began with Santiago utilising his height and reach advantages to trouble him early on.
In the fourth, the action heated up as the American leapt in to try and close the distance before getting caught with some eye-catching shots from the underdog.
However, the champion turned the fight in the fifth, landing a right uppercut to stun his challenger before flooring him with a follow-up left.
From this point on, Santiago seemingly had no desire to taste more of Haney’s power. He made the remaining rounds of the bout scrappy and awkward and took it the distance.
The three judges scored it: 120-107, 120-107, 120-107.
“I could’ve done better. I dislocated my right shoulder,” Haney said post-fight.
“I’m not sure what round it was, but it’s alright, I showed I’m a true champion. Onto the next.
“He was very crafty, but I showed I can adjust, I can fight through anything.”
