Dillian Whyte believes Anthony Crolla is not on Vasyl Lomachenko’s level, but admits ‘crazier things have happened’
Dillian Whyte is finding it tough to make a case for Anthony Crolla against Vasyl Lomachenko on Friday night.
The heavyweight contender has plenty of praise for his fellow Brit ahead of the lightweight title bout, but just can’t see him pulling off a shock victory.
Speaking to talkSPORT.com before his weekly column for the website, Whyte said: “Crolla is a good boxer first and foremost.
“He’s won world titles, he keeps coming back, he works hard, he has a great chin and every time he gets in the ring he shows a good account of himself.
“But, he’s not on Lomachenko’s level.
“When taking on guys like this, you need to have big punch power to have that puncher’s chance and that’s something Crolla doesn’t have.
“He does have some power and I think he will give a very good account of himself, but it’s hard to say I can see him out-working Lomachenko or knocking him out.
“Crolla is a cool guy and this is boxing – crazier things have happened.”
