Dillian Whyte vs Dereck Chisora 2: Anthony Joshua launches scathing attack on ‘idiot’ Whyte after post-fight confrontation
Anthony Joshua launched a scathing attacking on Dillian Whyte after a post-fight clash which took place on Saturday night at the O2 Arena.
Fresh from knocking out Dereck Chisora with a stunning left hook after eleven rounds of hard-fought battle, Whyte immediately turned his attention to AJ – who had been working for Sky at ringside – and called him up to the ring for a face-off.
“I’m Number one baby, let’s go,” he declared, “I want that lanky piece of s*** over there [Joshua]. Let’s go.”
Joshua then clambered up onto the ring apron and replied: “Dillian let’s forget about what happened in the past, we’re both at world level now.
“We know how the list goes, number one, number two, but if they’re not available, if there’s anyone that deserves a shot, it’s you.
“Deontay Wilder’s the target, but if it’s not him, it’s Dillian Whyte.”
Dillian Whyte did not have a microphone at this point, but could be seen shouting back at Anthony Joshua, he then stormed from the ring, perhaps frustrated that he could not be heard during the confrontation.
After returning to the Sky team, Joshua gave his take on the exchange.
“Dillian’s an idiot,” the irritated heavyweight began, “You know why? I showed him some respect.
“I just told him straight: ‘I knocked you out clean when we fought.’
“Let’s forget about that, because we’ve both developed. Let’s prove who’s the better fighter now.
“If Deontay Wilder ain’t serious, and he’s gonna fight Tyson Fury, and he don’t wanna become undisputed, Dillian you’ll get a shot.
“He starts piping up, so I said: ‘Alright, cool.’
“I’m quite respectful, but if Dillian steps in the ring with me, trust me, none of these heavyweights are on my level.
“I keep my lid on because I don’t wanna explode on none of them. I do that business in the ring.
“If Dillian’s serious, he can come get this work as well.”
