FST GW4 Captain – Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal v Leicester City - Premier League - Emirates Stadium

Alexandre Lacazette gets the captaincy for us in GW4 for a few reasons: though there is an element of risk on whether Wenger will re-introduce him into the starting XI this weekend, which would be the logical choice after last weekend’s humiliating 4-0 defeat against Liverpool, the potential reward of taking the gamble is too big to ignore. Arsenal have gotten a lot of stick for last weekend’s performance, and in fact their mediocrity so far this season, but there’s arguably no better fixture to bounce back to form than at home to Bournemouth (18th), who are one of only three teams to lose all their matches so far.

FST – Transfers In

For GW4 we’ve taken just a single transfer, swapping out bench-warmer Ander Herrera for Brighton’s star man, Anthony Knockaert. After bringing in Knockaert, who is guaranteed to get game time, all but one of our outfield players are first team starters, so there are lots of options for rotation in the upcoming weeks.

Anthony Knockaert (Brighton) – £5.9mBrighton vs West Brom predictions, free betting tips and match preview

Brighton’s main man, Anthony Knockaert (15 goals and 8 assists in the Championship last season), is back to full fitness and got his first start against Watford in GW3. Although the Seagulls were held to a goalless draw, the French winger was a standout performer and he produced more shots (four) and shots in the box (three), one of which hit the post, than any other player on the pitch.

Brighton host West Bromwich Albion this weekend, and though Tony Pulis’ side have conceded just one goal this season, the Baggies are particularly susceptible to attacks from the wings, allowing more crosses (54) than any other team, so if the Seagulls do manage to break through, it’s more than likely that Knockaert would be involved somehow. He should also prove a decent long-term investment, with seven of Brighton’s next nine matches scoring a 2 in the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR).

FST – Transfers Out

Ander Herrera (Manchester United) – £5.3m

With Nemanja Matic being brought in by Mourinho from Chelsea during the transfer window, Ander Herrera has been reduced to a role on the bench for the time-being.

FST – Ones to Watch

Alvaro Morata (Chelsea) – £10.1m

Premier League - Chelsea vs Burnley

Looking for a differential up front? Look no further than Alvaro Morata. Owned by just 13.3% of fantasy managers, his performance off the bench against Burnley and 12 point haul last time out against Everton (1 goal, 1 assist and 3 bonus points) has peaked our interest in the Spaniard. With Morata now looking to be Conte’s main man up front, we’re expecting more to come from him this weekend against Leicester.

Javier Hernandez (West Ham) – £7.1m

West Ham

While West Ham haven’t had the best start to the season, former Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez already has two goals under his belt. Chicharito’s predatory instincts are second to none as a mid-price option up front – all 39 of his Premier League goals have come from inside the penalty area – and the Mexican needed just two touches to find the back of the net twice against Southampton in GW2. The Hammers must be cautiously optimistic ahead of their first home game of the season against promotees, Huddersfield, and we wouldn’t put it past the veteran striker to get himself on the score-sheet on Monday.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Manchester United) – £8.3m

Manchester United - Henrikh Mkhitaryan

While Lukaku and Pogba have been making all the headlines over United’s three wins, Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been pulling a lot of the strings. Mkhitaryan has recorded at least one assist in each match so far (5 assists total) and as the leading midfielder in Fantasy Premier League, he remains a bargain for a player very much in Mourinho’s plans this year.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (Everton) – £8.4m

Gylfi Sigurdsson was one of the most instrumental midfielders in the Premier League last season (9 goals and 13 assists), and though he’s yet to get the ball rolling at Everton (one appearance off the bench against Man City and one start against Chelsea), we feel that the Icelandic international has huge potential as a differential – selected by just 5.1% – for those who jump on him sooner rather than later. Everton have had one of the toughest starts to the season, but we fancy the Toffees’ chances against Spurs on Saturday.

Marcos Alonso (Chelsea) – £7.1m

Chelsea vs Everton predictions, betting tips and match preview

Despite keeping just one clean sheet so far this season, Chelsea’s raiding wing-back has shown exactly why he’s the most expensive defender in FPL – and why he’s also in our team! Alonso already has two goals and three bonus points to his name after an offensive masterclass against London rivals Spurs – one of the strongest defenses in the Premier League – and there’s almost no fixture you wouldn’t want him playing in, so he’s a sound long-term investment.

Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) – £5.5m

Though it’s Bertand’s right-sided counterpart, Cedric, who features in the Team FST starting XI, the English left back is worth special consideration, despite the £0.5m price jump. Bertrand has earned 2 bonus points more than Cedric (0) for his defensive display against Swansea in the opener, and we feel he has decent potential to repeat that performance this weekend at home to Watford.
