FST GW5 Captain – Dele Alli

Tottenham vs Burnley predictions, betting tips and match previewsDele Alli gets the captaincy for us in GW5 for a few reasons: most importantly, Spurs have a very “winnable” match at home to Swansea on Saturday – 2 in the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR). No team has conceded more shots (78) or big chances (10) than Swansea this season, and the England midfielder supplied a goal and an assist when the two teams last met in April. Given that Alli missed Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League encounter against Borussia Dortmund to suspension, he’s also one of the few Spurs players to have had a full weeks rest, so a repeat performance wouldn’t be out of the question.

FST – Transfers In

For GW5 we’ve taken just a single transfer, swapping out Brazilian winger Willian for Cameroon nation team forward Eric Maxim Chuopo-Moting.

Eric Maxim Chuopo-Moting (Stoke) – £5.6m

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting made his mark in the Premier League on his 3rd full start for the Potters, scoring a brace against Mourinho’s defensively sound Manchester United last weekend. At just £5.6m, he is priced VERY reasonably for a player who is classed as a midfielder in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but actually gets utilised as either a winger or as a forward on the pitch, as fantasy midfielders earn 1 point more per goal than forwards. Choupo-Moting seems a fitting replacement for Marco Arnoutovic and may well prove to be this season’s “Josh King” if he can keep those numbers up.Stoke vs Man United

FST – Transfers Out

Willian (Chelsea) – £7.1m

With Willian starting on the bench against Leicester last weekend and playing all 90 minutes during the week against Qarabag in the Champions League, it seems logical that Antonio Conte has plans to utilise the Brazilian as he did for most of last season – as an impact midfielder to come on for the last 20 minutes of a match.

FST – Ones to Watch

Alvaro Morata (Chelsea) – £10.2m

Premier League - Chelsea vs Burnley

Looking for a differential up front? Look no further than Alvaro Morata. Though we have recommended the Spaniard in previous articles, we are guilty of not yet picking him up ourselves – in fact, Morata is owned by just 17.7% of fantasy managers – and his performances alone so far this season should make him worth special consideration. Not only is he the top scoring forward in FPL, registering 3 goals, 2 assists and 5 bonus points so far (30 points total), but his £10.2m price tag is a massive £2.2m cheaper than Harry Kane and £1.5m cheaper than Lukaku!

Joselu (Newcastle United) – £5.5m

Joselu is another Spanish striker that hasn’t taken much time to settle into the Premier League. Not only did he score on his first start for Newcastle in Gameweek 3, but he’s produced some eye-catching statistics over his 188 combined minutes on the pitch. No forward has had more shots on target this term than Joselu (9) and the Spaniard’s average of 15.7 minutes per attempt on goal is a rate that ranks him between FPL giants Kane and Lukaku. For just £5.5m, Joselu has to be worth a punt against his former side on Saturday.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – £10.5m

Chelsea Premier League

Hazard featured off the bench in Chelsea’s 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Antonio Conte looks poised to unleash the Belgian winger for his first start of the season on Sunday against Arsenal. When it comes to premium-priced FPL midfielders, goals are a huge factor. Hazard is expected to remain as Chelsea’s designated spot-kick taker and his form at Stamford Bridge is second-to-none, scoring 12 goals and assisting three there last season (on the road he managed just four goals and two assists). Arsenal have a less than convincing defensive record – only West Ham have conceded more – so the Belgian looks set to continue his streak against them – Hazard has scored in three of the last four at home to the Gunners.

Ben Davies (Spurs) – £5.7mNewcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League - St James' Park

At the back, our attention turns to the most transferred in player this week – Ben Davies. The Welsh left-back should be a sure starter until Danny Rose returns from injury, and Spurs have a rather favourable fixture list in the coming weeks, with all four of their next four matches rated 2 in the FDR. At £5.7m, he’s on the cheaper side for a player from a team as defensively sound as Tottenham and in terms of potential clean sheets. But his qualities don’t end there. Davies has already demonstrated his attacking qualities in the final third against Newcastle in GW1 (1 goal, 1 clean sheet and 3 bonus points) and against Everton last time out too (2 assists and 2 bonus points).
