LATEST BOXING NEWS
Anthony Yarde vs Sergey Kovalev
WBO president Paco Valcarcel has now confirmed terms are agreed for this light-heavyweight title fight in Russia.
Warren: “We’re towards the end of negotiations and I think we’ll have something to announce within the next week or so.”
Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce
The BBBofC have ordered this fight for the British heavyweight title, with Joyce’s team saying they will attend Dubois’ fight against Richard Lartey on April 27.
Warren: “We don’t want to count our chickens, obviously Daniel’s fighting Lartey on April 27 at Wembley.
“That’s a tough fight for him, if he comes through that, he wants his next fight to be for the British title against Joe Joyce.
“Let’s get the one out of the way on the April 27 before we count our chickens.”
Carl Frampton’s Return
Frampton was originally waiting to get his court hearing with the McGuigans out of the way before returning to the ring, however this has now been pushed back from May to September at the earliest.
Warren: “As you heard, it’s been pushed back now until September that case. So that’s gonna be Carl’s choice, it’s a bit frustrating for him.
“Obviously at the moment it’s a live case, so it’s very difficult to comment.
“Hopefully Josh Warrington comes through his fight against Kid Galahad and Carl wins another version of the title – what a great rematch that would be.”
