Gabriel Zakuani: Gillingham footballer posts appeal on social media to find son, 11, who has been missing since Wednesday
Gillingham footballer Gabriel Zakuani has made an appeal on social media for help finding his 11-year-old son, who has been missing since Wednesday.
Ajae Blackwood-Petrie, from Epsom, was reported missing on April 24 after failing to return home from school, Surrey Police said in a statement.
It is understood he was last seen at 3:45pm, and multiple enquiries have led to the suggestion he may be in the Isle of Dogs area of London.
Blackwood-Petrie, 11, is the son of former Fulham, Peterborough and current Gillingham defender Zakuani.
The 33-year-old posted an appeal for help on social media platform Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
Zakuani wrote: “My 11 year old boy is missing and hasn’t been seen since he left school yesterday on his way to the bus stop, anyone with any kind of information please contact Surrey Police or Met Police. Please share. Really appreciate it.”
Blackwood-Petrie, who is described as black, with short black hair and of slim build, was last seen wearing St Andrews school uniform, a black Adidas coat and black kickers.
“If anyone has any information about where Ajae is, please contact us,” said Detective Inspector Oana King, of the Safeguarding Investigation Unit. “He is likely travelling by bus or train.
“This is out of character for Ajae, and we are growing increasingly concerned for his safety.
