Jon Jones tells female reporter ‘you suck’ after being quizzed about drug test controversy ahead of UFC return

Jon Jones blasted a reporter for quizzing him over his recent drug test controversy ahead of his UFC 232 return against Alexander Gustafsson this weekend.

After abnormalities were found in a test submitted by the former light heavyweight champion, Jones was refused a licence to fight by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

Jon Jones showed his irritation with questions from a journalist

It meant Dana White and the UFC had to take the extraordinary decision of moving the entire pay-per-view show from Nevada to California on six days’ notice to ensure the event would go ahead as planned.

At Thursday’s pre-fight press conference, Jones took offence to questioning from Swedish journalist Izabelle Kostic for asking him about his chequered history with drugs.

Kostic asked: “How come this is the third time we’re actually taking focus from the fighters and the fight and talking about what you have in your body — whether it’s a picogram (or not) — why have you tested positive?”

To which Jones replied in a nonchalant manner: “Next question, thank you.”

After the question was put to UFC boss White, who claimed not to have heard, Jones immediately picked back up the microphone to continue.

Jones urged the crowd to boo the journalist and told her ‘you suck’

“Sit down,” Jones said. “Take the mic from her, better questions, better journalism. Is there a real journalist? Better journalism, you suck … who are you, where did you come from?”

It will do little to improve the reputation of the fighter, who has already failed three drug tests in the past.

His opponent Gustafsson, who came close to beating Jones back in 2013, vowed to punish the American.
