Kenny Omega and All Elite Wrestling announce gaming festival Fyter Fest that will feature AEW wrestling
Chris Jericho appeared to be something of a pioneer when he combined wrestling and a cruise to make the Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea.
Y2J has now signed with All Elite Wrestling after 19 years with the WWE and it seems his genius is rubbing off on his new cohorts.
Kenny Omega has announced Fyter Fest – a new luxury gaming festival that also features wrestling.
It’s worth noting from the outset that this is a play on words from the ill-fated Frye Festival that Ja Rule tried to run.
It’s set to go down on Jun 29th and at Daytona Beach as part of CEO 2019 and Omega has already revealed that a host of AEW stars will be on hand to perform.
Check out the hilarious trailer for the announcement below:
Omega is a well-known keen gamer in the wrestling industry and his relationship with WWE’s Xavier Woods has certainly helped gain a ton of momentum for the gaming industry.
Teaming wrestling and gaming seems like a natural fit and it’s a cross-promotion that appeals largely to the same demographic.
You can visit fyterfest.com for more details on the event, but be warned, the site crashed following Omega’s announcement.
