Koeman prepared to splash £50 million on two Premier League stars

Everton are reportedly moving quickly to try to complete two new signings before the start of the new season. Koeman is reportedly trying to sign both Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace and Lamine Kone from Sunderland before the opening game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur. The two deals could set back Everton a total of £49 million, with Lamina Kone reportedly being available for a fee of £21 million, while Bolasie would cost more in the region of £28 million. The cost of both of these transfers would be covered by the sale of John Stones, who was sold to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side for a fee of £47.5 million.

Everton have already replaced John Stones with the signing of Ashley Williams from Swansea for a fee in the region of £12 million, but are looking to add extra options, especially considering the inconsistency of Phil Jagielka. Lamina Kone could be the perfect man for the job, having impressed during the half season he has spent at Sunderland, helping the club to avoid relegation with 2 goals in a 3-0 win over Everton on the final day. Sunderland are desperate not to sell their star defender, but are preparing for the possibility of losing him with the signing of Papy Djilobodji, as well as the signing of Manchester United duo Paddy McNair and Donald Love.

Democratic Republic of Congo star Yannick Bolasie would prove as a great addition to Everton’s attacking line up, as he would likely be a part of a 4 man attack, with Lukaku starting up front and Ross Barkley, Gerard Deulofeu and himself starting in attacking midfield behind the Belgian. It has the potential to be one of the scariest attacking threats to come up against in the league, but there is still a chance that Lukaku will be leaving the club this summer, following interest from former club Chelsea.

The two signings would likely mark the end of Koeman’s spending spree this summer, with the team strengthened in all the key areas. If Lukaku does leave then Koeman will be forced to enter the market once more, but otherwise you can expect the Dutchman to be fairly quiet over the remaining few weeks of the transfer window.
