Liverpool news: Former Everton hero Tim Howard gives brutally honest answer on rivals’ title charge
Tim Howard has unsurprisingly revealed he hopes that Liverpool do not win the Premier League this season – or during his lifetime.
With two games of the season remaining, Manchester City lead Liverpool by a single point and should they win their final fixtures, the title will head back to the Etihad for another year.
Howard joined Manchester United in 2003, before moving to Everton in 2006, where he would spend a decade at Goodison Park and become a fans’ favourite.
Now with Colorado Rapids, the American, 40, is hoping the trophy does not head to Merseyside come the end of the campaign.

“I hope Liverpool never win a title while I’m still breathing,” the American goalkeeper told CNN.
“We have two teams in the form that they’re both in. It’ll come down to the wire.
“If no one has a slip up, then City wins.”
Liverpool face Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday and are then back in league action away to Newcastle on Saturday.
Having already been knocked out of Europe, City have longer to prepare when they host Leicester on Monday night.
