Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp believes Reds must imitate Manchester City to win Premier League title
Jurgen Klopp has said Liverpool need to be like Manchester City if they want to win the Premier League title this season.
Liverpool are the only remaining unbeaten side in the top flight this season and they lead the title race by just one point going into the festive period.
They have the opportunity to extend their advantage to four points, temporarily at least, if they can beat Wolves at Molineux on Friday.
It’s 28 years since the Reds last won the league and it could finally be their year to end that run.
Klopp, speaking ahead of the match with Wolves, said his side need to approach games in the same manner as defending champions City.
He said: “I have to respect that City are really, really, really good.
“I can’t say that City are lucky here and lucky there. They aren’t. Every match day they are spot on.

“They were last year when they got 100 points and they stay in that mode. Chapeau. I have to say it, there’s no sign of weakness.
“In the first 15 minutes against Everton maybe, but that was 12.30pm after a Champions League game so it was an extended warm-up and there were balls flying around and missed passes. But after that they took charge of the game and won it comfortably. Thank you very much. Next one.
“They are the current champions and they still play like champions. We are all the challengers. That’s why we should concentrate on every game and not take any result for granted. We are all judged on that because they are the champions, they can do it, so it should be possible for us as well.”
A win against Wolves would guarantee Liverpool top spot at Christmas and they then host Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.
Their fixtures over the festive period will end with a home clash against Arsenal on Saturday, December 29, before Liverpool visit the Etihad for a mouth-watering encounter with City on the third day of the new year.
