Scott Brown EXCLUSIVE: Celtic skipper expecting tough title race with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this season
Celtic captain Scott Brown has told talkSPORT that he believes the Bhoys will face a tough fight to retain the Scottish Premiership as they go head-to-head with Old Firm rivals Rangers.
Both teams are sitting on 31 points after 12 league games, with just a solitary goal separating them as things stand.
Brown has won nine league titles with Celtic during a glittering 12-year spell in Glasgow to date.
He is, though, fully aware that him and his teammates will need to be at their best to prevent Steven Gerrard’s men from ending their eight-year dominance in Scotland.
“For us it’s always a hard season and a hard title race, no matter what,” Brown said in an exclusive interview with this radio station.
“Every time we play, someone wants to beat us and stop our record.

“We’ve done really well over the last eight seasons, Brendan Rodgers came in and we’ve won seven trophies out of seven, and Neil [Lennon] has kicked on after that. It’s been fantastic times.
“But we don’t want to get too carried away, we need to make sure we maintain our level of performances and consistency throughout the whole team.
“We’ve been doing that so far and we need to continue to do that.”
Next up for Brown and co are Livingston at Parkhead on November 23, while their arch nemesis Rangers are at Hamilton Accies 24 hours later.
