Tony Cascarino has blasted Gillingham chairman Paul Scally for the decision to sack Steve Lovell.

In an extraordinary rant about his former club, the talkSPORT host labelled the move ‘disgraceful’ and ‘embarrassing’.

Steve Lovell was sacked on Friday

Lovell was relieved of his duties on Friday despite successfully guiding Gils to the safety of 12th in League One.

The 58-year-old had only been in charge for 18 months and won 32 of his 92 games as manager.

Cascarino said: “The decision to sack Steve Lovell is disgraceful and embarrassing for Gillingham and their fans.
