Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Galatasaray ‘agree’ personal terms with Fernando Llorente
Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente has reportedly agreed personal terms with Galatasaray over a January transfer.
The Spanish forward has spent a season-and-a-half with Spurs but managed barely any starts ahead of superstar Harry Kane, and he’s one of several players the club want to offload.
Overall, in 38 appearances, the 33-year-old has netted six times, and only once this season – against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
And, according to reports in Turkey, Llorente is now all set to join Galatasaray as a replacement for the outbound Bafetimbi Gomis who has joined Al Hilal.
The deal is only likely to garner Spurs around £900,000 (€1million) but will get his wages off the books as they look for midfield reinforcements.
Llorente’ contract at Spurs ends next summer and he’s already expressed his interest in a move, although it appears he would favour a return to Athletic Bilbao.
“Being a player with a game changer role is not enough for anyone, he told talkSPORT’s Universo Premier.
“All the players want to play. Always. The more the better. But this is the role I am having now, I try to give my best and be ready for whenever the manager needs me.
