Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino willing to let £75million worth of players leave in the January window
Mauricio Pochettino is willing to let £75million worth of talent leave in the January transfer window to fund his Premier League title charge.
The Tottenham Hotspur boss has managed to lead his side to second in the league and just six points off Liverpool.
However, the Argentine is aware he needs to revamp his current squad next month after failing to bring in new recruits in the summer.
Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and flop Vincent Janssen will all be available once the January transfer window opens.
According to the Daily Mail, offers for Michel Vorm and Fernando Llorente will also be considered, with both men out of contract in the summer.
Dembele is also out of contract in the summer, but the 31-year-old is currently recovering from an ankle injury and is looking for a new challenge in the summer. Monaco and both AC and Inter Milan remain interested in the Belgium international.
Wanyama is perhaps the most surprising name on the list – especially considering he does not want to leave the club.
However, persistent knee injuries and genuine interest from London rivals West Ham United mean a move could happen.
N’Koudou and Janssen arrived in 2016 for relatively big transfer fees, but have failed to acclimatise to the demands of the English game and have spent loan periods with other clubs.
Spurs became the first club in Premier League history to not sign a single player in the summer transfer window after a gruelling World Cup.
In spite of that, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan told talkSPORT he feels Spurs are the best-run club in the Premier League.
In fact, the 51-year-old named five reasons why Spurs are ‘probably the best football club in the Premier League’
