Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City: Bernardo Silva out with muscle problem for Champions League quarter-final

Bernardo Silva was left out of Manchester City‘s squad to face Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday because of an injury.

Silva was a notable absentee for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash in north London.

Bernardo Silva was not even on the bench against Spurs

Riyad Mahrez came in the side as his replacement but the Brazilian winger will be a big miss for Pep Guardiola as he has been an integral part of his team.

It was confirmed by commentator Jim Proudfoot that Silva was left out of the side due to a muscle problem.

Pep Guardiola also confirmed that the winger was out through injury and why Kevin De Bruyne was only on the bench.

He told BT Sport: “Bernardo is injured and Kevin De Bruyne could play but I decided to play Gundogen at that position.

“I know this Tottenham team’s physicality is incredible in the last minutes when they are strong.
