Troy Deeney: Watford striker unapologetic about goal celebration in victory over West Ham

Troy Deeney has no regrets about his controversial celebration during Watford’s 2-0 victory at West Ham on Saturday.

The Hornets skipper put his side in front when he slammed home a first-half penalty before charging towards the corner of the pitch.

Troy Deeney goaded the home fans

He attempted a knee slide before punching the corner flag out of the ground and goading the home supporters, one of whom threw a paper cup in his direction.

Afterwards, Deeney explained: “Other than the knee slide, where I nearly broke my knee, but people have an opinion on me and my family and that’s the only way I can shut them up.

“I get in trouble sometimes but this one I’m all right.”
