Tyson Fury vs Tom Schwarz officially announced for June 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas
Tyson Fury will fight Tom Schwarz on June 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it was officially announced on Saturday night.
The ‘lineal’ heavyweight champion opted out of an immediate rematch with Deontay Wilder following their draw in December and instead signed a co-promotional deal linking him to US broadcaster ESPN.
Fury is now promoted by Frank Warren alongside Bob Arum’s Top Rank/ESPN and will fight in the States for the foreseeable future.
As such, his team want him to have a fight to gain exposure in America before he steps back in the ring with Wilder.
Step forward Tom Schwarz.
The undefeated 24-year-old is 24-0 with 16 KOs, however has never faced an opponent even remotely close to Tyson Fury’s level before.
Regardless, the German has made his way to #2 in the WBO rankings due to the fact he holds their ‘Intercontinental title.’ Tyson Fury is #4 in the same list.
