Vincent Janssen: Tottenham fans hail striker as Dutchman returns after nearly two years out of the first-team
Tottenham Hotspur fans were going wild on Twitter ahead of their clash with Manchester City as they realised Vincent Janssen had returned to the matchday squad.
Absent since August 2017, when he played one minute in a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, the Dutchman could now play a key role for the club.
Janssen was famed for his inability to score from open play after a £18million move from AZ Alkmaar but with Harry Kane still out, Mauricio Pochettino has now turned to a player he exiled.
The Argentine boss even took away the player’s No.9 shirt at the beginning of the season but now he’s fit again he’s been called upon at a vital moment.
And Spurs fans rejoiced at the news and believe the Dutch forward could go from hero to zero at the Etihad Stadium. You can see what they said on Twitter below.
