West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini makes Premier League history with Manchester United victory
Manuel Pellegrini has become the first-ever Premier League boss to defeat four different Manchester United managers following West Ham’s 2-0 triumph at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The former Manchester City boss has established himself as a real fan favourite with the Hammers faithful during his 16-month tenure in east London to date.
Andriy Yarmolenko’s smart finish gave the Hammers a deserved first-half lead over United, before Aaron Cresswell’s free-kick sealed the game late on.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the latest United boss Pellegrini has managed to get the better off after previous successes over Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and David Moyes.
Prior to last September’s meeting with the Red Devils, the Hammers had only registered one win in the preceding 19 top-flight meetings.
Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic were on target for the hosts that day, who also found the net by virtue of a Victor Lindelof own goal.

Marcus Rashford’s strike that day was not enough to stop United falling to a 4-1 defeat and resigned them to their worst league start in 29 years.
The other two victories came during his four-year stint at City, where he won the Premier League title and delivered two League Cup successes.
Moyes’ first Manchester derby in September 2013 ended in abject humiliation with a crushing victory at the Etihad, while Sergio Aguero’s second-half goal was the difference between the two sides at the same venue in November 2014 when Van Gaal was in charge of United.
