Why is Son Heung-min not playing tonight? Reason Tottenham star won’t face Ajax explained
Tottenham will be without Son Heung-min for their Champions League semi-final first-leg clash against Ajax tonight.
Son scored three of Spurs’ goals in their remarkable 4-4 aggregate win over Manchester City in the last round.
The South Korean has been in superb form this season, scoring or assisting 29 goals, and has filled the hole left by the injured Harry Kane.
But much to the frustration of Mauricio Pochettino, the forward will have to watch on from the stands when Ajax arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening.

Why is Son Heung-min not playing?
He has picked up yellow cards against City, Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven in this season’s Champions League to receive an automatic one-match ban.
Son will be free to return to the Tottenham line-up for the return leg in Amsterdam on Wednesday, May 8.
What has Son Heung-min said?
Following their dramatic night against City, Son said: “I try to be positive but missing this semi-final makes me so sad, so disappointed.
“I’m a very positive guy, I’m very comfortable with the lads so I’ll probably be more nervous watching in the stands than when I play.
“But I trust my team, I trust my players, I trust this stadium so I’m not worried about it.”
