Wladimir Klitschko refuses to rule out return as he finally addresses comeback rumours
Wladimir Klitschko has finally responded to comeback rumours following an April Fools’ hoax which tricked the boxing world earlier this week.
In recent months it has been reported that ‘Dr Steelhammer’ was in talks with US streaming service DAZN over a potential three-fight deal, and Ukrainian outlet ‘Sport Arena’ took advantage of this to play a prank.
The sports news website declared on April 1 that Klitschko had now agreed to a three-fight $120million comeback and would return on May 25 in Kiev.
It was not until several hours later, after capturing the attention of the entire boxing world, that they admitted their article was an April Fools’ prank.

“So far, my status has not changed,” the former heavyweight champion told SID when asked about this story and other more serious reports linking him with a return.
“Rumours keep coming up that are like a compliment to me. If the fans really want to see that, it’s nice. I’m delighted that the community and the sport miss me.
“You never say never.”
