WrestleMania 35: Shock pre-show results crown two new champions and two battle royal winners

WrestleMania 35 kicked off with plenty of surprises and the WWE clearly had no intention of waiting around.

With the first hour of the kickoff show on the WWE Network and the second hour also available on USA Today in the States, the company clearly wanted to sucker some fans in to purchase the show.

WWE WrestleMania 35 is in New York

New Cruiserweight champion – Tony Nese

The Premiere Athlete Tony Nese squared off with Buddy Murphy for the cruiserweight strap and, as usual, the 205 Live guys put on a very entertaining bout.

With both men pulling out all the stops, Nese would get the best off the Australian who had the best title reign since Neville. A hot start to the show.

Women’s Battle Royal winner – Carmella

Talent’s like Asuka, Ember Moon and Dana Brooke had hot spells in this match eliminating several competitors, but the Riott Squad took over late on.

With the final three appearing to be Asuka, Sarah Logan and Sonya Deville, Logan surprisingly outlasted both women to seemingly claimed victory. However, the Princess of Staten Island appeared from the outside and went on to cap off a fine six months in her career with a win.

New Raw Tag Team champions – Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins had not won since they came back together as a team. Hawkins himself had been on a losing streak of over 600 matches.

Despite taking over 15 minutes of punishment from The Revival, Hawkins managed to score the shock roll-up victory to win their first tag team titles as a team in 11 years.

Andre the Giant Battle Royal winner – Braun Strowman

This was the Braun Strowman show from start to finish. After obliterating the vast majority of the field, it came down to The Hardy Boyz and Strowman.

Saturday Night Live cast members Michael Che and Colin Jost had hid under the ring from the get-go, but they made their move with just three men left. Unsurprisingly, things did not end well for them even with the introduction of their ‘therapist’
