Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to Milan in January, according to MLS commissioner Don Garber.

The veteran striker has spent the past 18 months with LA Galaxy, netting a stunning 52 goals in 56 appearances for the MLS outfit.

But the 38-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the year, meaning he can join a new club on a free transfer in January.

The Swede spent two years playing for Milan from 2010 to 2012, and Garber let slip that he is in talks to rejoin his former club.

“Zlatan is such an interesting guy,” Garber told ESPN. “He keeps my hands full, my inbox full, he’s a thrill a minute.

“You need to have those guys who are breaking through the clutter like David Beckham did in our early days.
